Redesign
The purpose or use of the room is the focus here.  Who will use the space and what is the desired effect? Is it a family gathering space to feel relaxed and informal, or an office space where you need clarity, good organization and promotes concentration.  I like to incorporate objects that you already have and enjoy, into the new scheme or repurpose things that you may not be using.  The end result, a room to love spending time in!

Staging
The focus here is to neutralize. This allows the potential buyers to see themselves in the space. We want to highlight the home itself, and not your personal belongings. This entails getting a head start on some of the packing, organizing, and re-evaluating furniture placement for best traffic flow. The end result...selling faster with MORE in your pocket!!

5 feng shui principles to live by

  • De clutter: Clutter creates energy blocks in our space.   You may experience this as feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, confused, or even depressed.  Clutter keeps us stuck in the past.  Instead of thinking what you will be getting rid of, concentrate on the dreams and goals you are making room for!
  •  Goals and Intention:  an important part of feng shui is goal setting.  It is important for us to visualize where we want to go in order to make it a priority.  Journal writing on a daily basis allows us direction, and a chance to look back and see how far we have come!  It keeps our life purpose in the foreground, which allows it to manifest faster!
  • Gratitude: Having an attitude of gratitude helps keep us in correct position and be thankful in all that we do.  Gratitude can be found in the simplest of things, the sweet smell of lilacs, the smile on a loved one’s face, or just taking note of feeling healthy and strong.  Our eyes see the world in a totally different way when coming from a place of gratitude.  Beauty and thankfulness is always available to us when we take the time to notice.
  • Intuition and guidance:  It is a good habit to end the day asking for guidance.  We then open ourselves to receive wisdom when stuck in a certain situation or problem.  If we ask specifically, we will rest better knowing help is on the way!  We must also listen to our own intuition.  If we take a few moments each day to clear our minds, often the solution will reveal itself, or we may start to notice opportunities.
  • Color:  Color is all around us and effects us in many ways each day.  We may find some colors healing, invigorating, playful and so on.  Start to take note how colors effect you?  Once you do this, you can begin to surround yourself with what you need.  Whether it is in the colors of your rooms at home, the clothes you wear, or the food you eat.  Nourish yourself with colors!
